Travel

San Luis Obispo is a small town nestled in the hills of the Central Coast of California (about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.) There is a small airport with two carriers, United and U.S. Airways, servicing San Luis Obispo (SLO) directly. Flying directly into SLO on one of these carriers would be the most simple method of travel. Flying into the Los Angeles area or the San Francisco Bay area will often be cheaper, but requires a 3.5 hour drive (although very scenic) to reach SLO. There aren't many taxi cabs at the airport so a member of the local organizing committee will be available to pick up passengers upon arrival. If you wish to have a pickup, we will need to know your arrival information which we will gather via email at a later date. The SLO airport also has rental car compaines Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz (see the link to the SLO airport below.) San Luis Obispo is also served by Amtrak as well as Greyhound.
